This is probably the largest collection of paperwork dedicated to motorcycles in the world and is invaluable source of information and technical data
for motorcycle enthusiasts. Although the library is accessible to all, members enjoy a discount on any charges associated with enquiries research or photocopies.

There is an extensive collection of catalogues,
instruction books, spare parts lists etc runs of "Motor Cycle" and "Motor Cycling", other magazines,
programmes, drawings and
books from the 1880s to the present day.
All library material is reference only, we do not loan anything out. Most of the material can be photocopied or scanned unless too fragile or an infringement of copyright.
We also hold the archives of various companies and individuals.
We are working on a database of these and it will be available later.

Following the generous gift of all the original factory records held by the science museum we now hold the surviving records
of a very large part of the once mighty British motorcycle industry.
We hold Ariel, BSA, Douglas Vespa, Gilera (c 1971-4), Levis, Norton, Royal Enfield up to 1920, Scott, Triumph, Velocette pre RS frames and late Zenith. Click here.
Our library is open from 9 am to 5:30 pm Monday to Thursday and 9 am to 4 pm Friday for your enquiries
by post fax or e-mail. You may telephone between 9.00 am and 1.30 pm each day.
Alternatively you can visit to facilitate your search for specialist archive material or simply to spend time reading the specialist books, pamphlets brochures,
brochures and other literature. We aim to help whatever the motorcycle related query.

It is a good idea to ring the day before you intend to visit to check the staff will be available to help. The library is upstairs but has a stairlift should it be needed.
The library also includes an extensive collection of
photographs of machines, riders and events.
