Description
The August Amble 2026 is a three-day social riding event for smaller machines under 250cc and over 50 years old (Pre 1976) using the smaller, quieter, rural roads of Rutland and the neighbouring counties. This event is based at The Greetham Valley Hotel, Greetham, in rural Rutland just 5 mins from A1. Daily recommended routes are provided both as route sheet files (for printing) and as GPS versions suitable for Phone, Sat Nav, or Beeline. Lovely rolling limestone scenery , rising up to 685 feet asl, picturesque villages and many places of interest along our routes. See VMCC magazine for report of last year’s event (Should be published in December 2025 edition). Programme in brief ; * = entry and following included in cost. Day 1 Sign in from 11.00am 12:00 Sandwich lunch*. Rider briefing 12:45pm Leave13:00; Afternoon ride 50 miles (short) or 65miles (long) Evening meal* and hotel accommodation* Day 2 Breakfast*. Leave after 9.30 am; Day ride ; 88 miles ( short) or 110 miles (long) Choice of lunch venues (Lunch not included today) Evening meal * and hotel accommodation* Day 3 Breakfast*. Rider Briefing 9:15am Leave 9.30am Ride: 50 mls(short) 65 mls(long) Buffet Lunch and awards * (Wymondham Windmill) Leave 2.00pm for a 15mile afternoon route back to Greetham Event finishes approx. 3.30pm [ Option Day 3 (late afternoon into evening); Greetham Gathering classic vehicle event held 1 mile from hotel – ride over to the classic event ] Cost: £245 per person (on shared room basis) This cost includes the event entry fee , 2 nights Greetham Valley Hotel half board (Bed Breakfast & 3 course evening meal), a sandwich lunch Tues18 th , and Buffet Lunch Thurs 20th August. A small number of sole occupancy rooms are available ( supplement applies) Limited entry ; maximum of 30 riders on this event and early booking is essential. A motorcycle event . Terrain and road conditions not suitable for low powered machines such as mopeds or cycle motors.
